Cathy Casey has worked in the outdoor industry for so long she can remember when most Gore-Tex jackets were made in Britain. Working as an Instructor, Distributor, Sales-Agent, and manufacturer has meant a fascinating insight into the world of outdoor clothing and equipment across all aspects of the industry.
The opportunity to become a retailer came in 2005 when she and her husband Paul took over the legendary Joe Brown shops in Snowdonia followed by the iconic The Climbers shop in Ambleside in 2010.
A mediocre, middle aged climber, paddler, hillwalker, mountaineer, backpacker and ultra runner she still finds herself in ludicrous situations due to the rat on her shoulder that makes the word "yes" come out of her mouth when anyone else in their right mind would say "no".
Which is exactly what happened when Wayne said: "Do you want to record a podcast?"
